My Honest Review on Tieks
In case you are new around here let me fill you in on a wedding vendor obsession called Tieks. Tieks are the most adorable ballet flats with a telling turquoise bottom. I did a bunch of research, aka, read a few blogs, and felt that these shoes were going to be it for me. My wedding day feet savior, if you will. The lines of "walking on air" and "most comfortable flats" sang sweet songs to my ears, especially, after a 10 hour wedding day! Sadly, I don't think I have the same praises to sing. As much as I wanted to love these ballet flats I have to be honest and say that it took SIX MONTHS to break them in!.
My Star Rating after 3 months
Style - *****
Function - ***
Comfort - *1/2
I gave them a five star rating for style because they are adorable and make me feet look so petite. The turquoise bottoms holds up well, I have been wearing them for about 2 months and they still look new. I gave them a three star rating for function because I while I do get the walking on air for ballet flats thanks to the thick sole they cut down too low to be used "utilitarian" aka photographer in the bushes style. I always end up with so many sticks and leaves in them after walking lightly off the path. Maybe it's because I have a high arch? Which leads me to comfort. I gave them 1 1/2 stars for comfort because, oh my toe pinching flats! My toes are not happy after wearing these for long periods of time. I gave them a good two months of wearing them in and they do show signs of wear on the outside, bummer, but nothing in giving into comfort! I have this problem with shoes that don't make half sizes and encourage you to size down..
My star rating after 6 months
Style- *****

Comfort-*****
After six month I can say that these shoes are finally comfortable and my feet are floating on well supported clouds, that conveniently fold in half in my wedding bag, after a ten hour wedding day! It seems crazy to me that it took constant toe pinching to finally break these leather flats in but I am so happy with their style, function and comfort now. So if you are on the fence ordering these pricey little ballet flats and are a half size just know that it may take a little time before you fall head-over-heels for them because I so love my Tieks now! The fuchsia Tieks color is now on my list of needs but when do I have another six months to break them in!? One thing that really has impressed me is that the sole is so sturdy, even after six months of heavy wear they look almost new. I would love to hear your experience with Tieks and in you have any color recommendations.
